About the Scholarship

Lots of high school seniors dream of heading off to college after their graduation and Julianne Siller's dream was no different.

In May of 2013, Julianne tragically lost her life to a brutal stabbing on a trail within Palmer Park of Skippack, PA. A 17-year-old senior at Spring-Ford High School, Julianne was three weeks away from graduation and looking forward to attending Penn State Altoona.  Easily a friend to everyone she met, Julianne will always be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.

Julianne's dream of going to college was taken away from her and it was decided to channel a memory of Julianne through the dedication of a scholarship. Designed to assist graduating seniors of Spring-Ford High School with their pursuit of college education, several fundraising events have been held over the past year, in addition to generous donations from the community, to specifically benefit this fund.

Congratulations to the first two recipients of this scholarship, Isabella Landis and Eric Miller!

Eric demonstrated, in his essay, his strong determination in overcoming a physical ailment while rising to the challenges of his academic responsibilities. He will be attending Villanova University in the fall, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Isabella was the second scholarship recipient who learned, through her personal obstacle, to be a mentor to her peers and a positive role model in the process. Isabella will be furthering her education at West Chester University.
